Last 1/2 of August

I just can't believe that the summer is almost over. Here we are in the last 1/2 of August, and I have so much I have not gotten done this summer.

I am really dreading Friday this week!! I have to have a root canal done. I have never had one before and I am very scared of the dentist. I know it will all be ok, but I always make myself sick just thinking about going and sitting in that chair listening to the drill. Ok that is enough of that.

I have been tagged and although I don't usually play along this one is easy and fun.

       JOYS

  1. Watching my little grand daughters sleep
  2. Spending time with my children
  3. Cuddling up with my husband at the end of the day.

      FEARS

  1. Heights, I hate being up high and the ferris wheel is not a place that you will find me.
  2. Any of my children dying before me.
  3. Outliving my husband.

     GOALS

  1. To be able to live debt free.
  2. To save up the money to take a Cruise to the Carribean with my husband.
  3. To enjoy life more and not worry so much about things that I can't change.

     CURRENT OBSESSIONS

  1. Corn on the cob. I love the stuff and eat it almost everyday right now.
  2. Saving money for our vacation to Disney World.
  3. Nestabilities Dies (scrapbooking tools). I love them and want to collect all of the really cool ones. Scalloped circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, and hearts. Also the straight edged one of all that I have listed.

     SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT ME

  1. I have never drank an alcoholic drink.
  2. I love to dip french fries in a chocolate shake.
  3. I used to dream of being a hairdresser.

I am tagging Alexander H.,Pam, Kenna, Kayla, Julie K.

Now you know a bit more about me.

Have a wonderful evening!!

What a Weekend!!

I am just now getting around to posting a couple of photos from the concerts that we attended over the weekend.

First of all I must say that I enjoyed both concerts so much, but the Sugarland concert was by far my favorite!!

Bill Engvall was hysterical. I just love his type of comedy, he uses very few swear words and he is not vulgar and disgusting.  My favorite routine that he did was about turning 50 and getting a colonoscopy. It was so funny and when the evening was over my sides and diaphragm hurt from laughing so much. Our seats were in the front row and it was awesome!! I did manage to get a few good photos, here is one of them:
Billengvall_2

The Sugarland Concert was by far one of the best if not the best concert that I have ever had the pleasure of attending. They are so very good and are very humble. that really impressed me. They were very thankful to their fans and preformed for a little over an hour and a half. Just before the end of the concert they rolled out into the crowd and back to the stage in gigantic balls. It was one of the coolest things that I have ever seen. At the end they ran along the edge of the stage giving out autographs. I got both of their autographs on one of the t-shirts that Renae purchased. It was a very enjoyable evening and I would definitely go and see Sugarland again!! I did get some great shots of the two of them and so did Renae. Here are a couple of them:
Sugarland  Jennifer
I just love the photos that we got, of course sitting in the front row had nothing to do with it. LOL!! I am spoiled now. It will be hard to sit anywhere else now, but I know this may be a once in a lifetime event. Yeaa front row, baby!!!

I will be back tomorrow with the winner of my give away from last week.

Have a great evening.

Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

It is a hot one today! The thermometer says 95 in the shade. It is actually not all that bad.

We went to the Farmer's Market this morning. I was very disappointed, there is still no corn on the cob. We had such a cool spring that it is really late this year.

Montana Fair started today and we are going tonight. I usually don't get too excited about the fair but this year I am very excited!!! Tonight, David, Lesli, Tony and I are going to seeBill_engvall Bill Engvall. He is just so funny. I just love his joke, so I am anticipating an evening filled with laughter. The best part is that our tickets are front row, center!!!  Hopefully I will have some good photos to share tomorrow.

Tomorrow night we are going to seeSugarland16426x135 Sugarland and the tickets for that concert are also front and center. All I can say about that is Woooo  oooo oooo hoooo ooooo  ooooo ooooo!!!!

Renae will be arriving in town later on this evening and be here for a couple of days I am excited to see her. She will be going to the Sugarland Concert with us tomorrow. Tonight she and Kayla are having a girls night out.

Well I had better go and swap the laundry around.

Have a great weekend!!!

"Please, Namma, Please" and a tooth

Those are the words that I heard from my darling little grand daugher Danika tonight. She and her mom and sister stopped by tonight and she wanted to spend the night. I told her that she couldn't tonight because I have to work tomorrow. Darn that working thing anyway!! But she is going to spend the night with us tomorrow night. She just loves to be here and spend time with Papa and I.

Our little baby girl got her first tooth today!!!! Just barely thru the gums but it is there. They just grow so very fast. In a couple of weeks we should be able to see it sticking up in her mouth.

I don't have anything creative to share today, I have a few things in the works but nothing finished yet. I hope to have a chance to finish things up this weekend. Enjoy your Friday and have a wonderful weekend!!!

Please Be Careful!!!

Please be careful with all of your private and personal information. One of my friends is going thru some stuff right now because of some individual (s) who think it is ok to take things that are not theirs to take.

I worked in a Credit Union for 6 years and have seen and heard so many people who have had their information stolen and lost so much because of it. There are so many phishing scams out there anymore that everyone really needs to be careful. I know that you all probably know this stuff but I am going to give you a refresher course in protecting your finances, because I feel it is needs to be done.

  • DO NOT give your passwords to anyone, not even family members. You never know who may see the information.
  • DO NOT write your passwords down or store them on your computer. Hackers can find a way into your computer in no time.
  • DO NOT carry your pin number with you in your wallet or purse.
  • DO NOT ever give anyone calling you saying that they are with your bank or credit card company any personal private information. If they are truly with your bank or credit card company they have all the information that they need. If they claim that they have somehow lost access to it it is a scam.
  • DO NOT store passwords to your accounts in your email. Email is not that safe. Hackers can get in and then they can access anything that is in your email account.
  • If something ever feels funny check it out. If your think your information has been compromised contact your bank and credit card companies and tell them that you are afraid that your account may have been compromised. You can ask for your current card to be closed and a new one sent to you. The banks and credit card companies would much rather close your card and send you a new one than have to go thru all of the hassles and expenses of  fraud.
  • Be very cautious when purchasing things over the internet. Make sure that it is a reputable business.
  • Be wary of any mail or email telling you that you have won a lottery. If you have not played in a lottery, how can you have won it? It you get a letter with a check in it saying you have won an amount of money so please cash this check keep a portion and send a portion back, get rid of it it is a scam. Another thing to check on one of these types of letters is where it was mailed from, where company sending the letter is from and where the bank the check is drawn on is located. If they are from all different places do not attempt to cash it. I have seen people lose their life savings and be in debt for years to the bank because of these types of scams.

I worked with fraudulent debit card claims for over 2 years and believe me I have seen lots of stuff that I can't even talk about. I don't want to scare anyone from using a debit or credit card, but you just really need to be very careful. I had someone gain access to my debit card number one time and drain my account of $700. I was lucky and disputed it but it was scary and made me feel very violated. My daughter had someone steal her debit card and pass it around to friends to buy gas. Within 12 hours they had bought over $500 in gas and that was when gas was less than $3.00 per gallon. She was able to dispute it and got the money put back into her account, but it was such a hassle.

My message here tonight is just be careful with your personal information and keep very close tabs on your accounts. I don't want anyone to have to go thru what my friend is going thru now. I have faith that everything will turn out ok as the police are now involved and they will get to the bottom of it and all will be ok. Please keep my friend in your thoughts and prayers.

KOTM and a few other things

My LSS (Scrapbook Legacies) has started having a KOTM. I got the one for July about 3 weeks ago and had not had any time to play with it. The papers are beautiful, bright colors, I think the company is WE R. I did not really pay any attention to the company, beause I just loved the papers. Anyway, I had a chance to play with it this weekend and I made a card (that I cant share yet) and an altered journal.

Here is a close up of the butterfly:
Flowerbutterfly
I used 2 flowers, a piece of ric rac, 2 chipboard swirls and some rhinestones to create it. I was happy with the way that it turned out. Once in a while I come up with something original. I am thinking that I will have to make a set of notecards out of the scraps of paper that I have left.

I came home from work today with a bit of a bug. The bathroom and 7-up have been my best friends today. I really hope that this dosen't last too long. My dear hubby asked me if I was dreaming of snowcones and I told him yes. It is kind of a sick joke of his, but it fits the way that my backside feels right now.

This weekend our fair starts and we will be going. Saturday night we are going to see Bill Engvall. On Sunday, we will be going with Kayla, Nick and the girls and Renae who is coming home for the weekend. I am excited to see her it has been a month since we saw her. After spending the afternoon at the fair with them we will be going to the Sugarland concert. We also have the Farmers Market to go to on Saturday morning and we are hoping for corn this weekend.

Lastly, I have a few photos to share with you.

cha cha cha cha cha cha cha

Rainbird sprinklers...cha cha cha cha cha... that is the sound that they make. I love that sound. Here I am this evening sitting in my recliner with my laptop blogging and listening to the sprinklers. I don't know why I like that sound so much, but the simple fact is I do. It is very relaxing to me and also very mesmerizing. It is a big part of the summer. Summer is my favorite season so I guess that would be another reason that I like the sprinklers.

Some of my other summer favorites are dilly bars from DQ, corn on the cob, going to the fair, the warmth of the sun, the hot days & the cool nights (you get that in Montana), barbqueing, taking walks with my hubby, the farmers market, my roses, and freshly mowed grass. I am sure there are more but that is what I can think of right now.

What are some of your suummer favorites? Leave me a comment and I will pick a name from all of the comments and send you a set of notecards that I designed and made. You can look at them here. I will pick a name on Friday, August 8th.

I have a cute photo to share of Kaya and I. She is learning to give kisses and Tony got a picture of her giving her Grandma a kiss!! She loves her Grandma and Grandma loves her!!! Have a wonderful evening.Img_0683_a

LOOK WHO'S SITTING UP!!!

Kayasittingup Can you believe it? My little grand daughter, Kaya,  is starting to sit up already!! She is still a little unstable but she is doing good for being 5 months and 1 week old. She does really good and then gets excited and starts waving her hands and then falls over. She is just so darn cute!!

We had dinner at my parents tonight and had so much fun with the grand kids. My mom made homemade onion rings, mmmmmm! We all love them, good thing that she doesn't make them too often as they are pretty fattening. She also made a banana cake and it was very good.

Here are the card and layout that I created last night. On both of them I use Love, Elsie papers. I really liked this line as they were bright and summery looking! I just love the little ladybugs!!

Saturday Creative

I woke up very early this morning and was not able to go back to sleep so I just got up and finished a card and a layout for Page Plans for tomorrows reveal. I was on a roll so I finished the notecards from the previous post and then I made a new set of 4 notecards.

I am really loving using my Nestabilities. I have had them for almost 6 months and have not used them. I know how sad is that? I really think that part of the problem was that I did not have a way to store them so I just left them in the package. A few days ago I stopped at my LSS and they had gotten some art tins in from EK Success. I purchased 3 of them and also bought some magnet sheets from Hobby Lobby. I put a sheet of magnet in the tin and another in the lid and now I have a great storage system for my Nestabilities. I read that wonderful tip on Gina K.'s blog. Thanks Gina for the great idea!!!

I used the same supplies as in the previous post (all except for the patterned paper and I don't know who makes it) and whipped up a 4 card set. I am thinking that this will be nice to give as a small gift or to use to brighten someones day.

Setof4 Brownnotecard

Stop back tomorrow, I will be posting the card and layout that I did for Page Plans!!

Have a wonderful Saturday evening!! I am having dinner with friends, scrapbooking and going to DQ for a small ice cream cone. mmmmmmmmmm Enjoy!!
